Distance Learning = Chronic Pain?

I need a standing desk and vertical mouse to avoid chronic pain.

My Students

I teach at the same high school from which I graduated 20 years ago. Our school is high poverty, and available funds have gone to supplementing district-provided electronics with headphones that families could otherwise not afford.

Thankfully, our district has chosen to do distance learning, to maintain the safety of our students, staff, and our community.

Unfortunately, we do not have resources to create teacher setups. The district has promised a stipend, part of which I have already spent on headphones and upgraded Internet access.

My Project

I suffer from chronic pain in my lower back and wrist. Even during non-COVID times, I have to be careful to limit my computer usage.

One week in, distance learning has cause pain in both my back and wrist.

My home does not allow for additional furniture, but the standing desk converter will work perfectly. The vertical mouse will put less strain on my wrist as I plan, teach, and grade.

There are limits to how much I can stretch and ice my back and wrist, so these purchases will help a lot.
