This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Our district has currently chosen a completely 100% online approach to learning for the upcoming fall semester of the 2020-2021 school year. This completely changes how our STEAM magnet program students will be able to partake in their Computer Science or Engineering pathways.
Last spring, our district went to distance learning and students struggled to maintain their learning environment without the resources commonly found in the classroom.
Students were missing colors, pens, pencils, notebooks, and even some technology. The pandemic is also negatively impacting the hands on learning our students are typically found doing. Although this situation is not permanent, it is our current reality and we want to ensure our students get the best support to continue their education.
My Project
All these supplies will give the students the resources that they would typically see in their classrooms. With the financial strain COVID-19 has put on our students, it is important to recognize that and work as a team to support them. These supplies are essential for my students.
Because of COVID-19, students may not have the supplies they need to be successful, and that is why we need your help!
These supplies are meant to support the students as they are at home and can continue to be used if we return to schools at the end of the semester.
