This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Distance learning and teaching has been a challenge for my students with special needs. Although all of my students have access to technology provided by the school, my technology resources have greatly affected my ability to actively engage with my students and address their need.
My students learning experiences have been interrupted by the constant updating and rebooting of my outdated technology.
It has been heartbreaking to be engaged in a lesson that is going well to only have the computer shut off, restart or take hours to update to be able to access the changing distance learning platforms.
My students deserve to have their learning continue without interruption. My students deserve to be able to engage with each other without the screen freezing or going black. My students deserve to learn using technology that is update, with the capability to run multiple online programs efficiently.
My Project
This iPad and keyboard will be used daily to engage my students with special needs in distance learning platforms such as Zoom, Google Classroom, and Class Dojo to name a few. These materials will allow me to be able to record videos, which my students can watch later when their parents can support their needs at home.
Using these materials will help me provide my students with high quality online learning activities and experiences.
These materials will allow me to use graphics, download large PDF files and create video presentations to make the learning experiences more engaging and appealing, which will help to attract a higher level of daily participation.
