Distance Learners Need to See More of What They're Learning!
Help me give my students a better opportunity to learn from home through my use of an iPevo VZ-X Document Camera. This device is used for capturing hands-on elements while I teach live and recorded lessons.
My students from California are part of one of the most diverse populations of people in the world. Diversity not only in the cultures but also in their financial stability. They don't let these differences separate them, instead, they embrace each other's differences and find the good in each other.
The kindness I witness these children give to others every day is one reason why I love these students!
It's not uncommon to have a new student from another country come join our classroom at different points in the year. My students do such an amazing job at welcoming these classmates as if they've been in each other's lives since Kindergarten.
My class is truly a family that is able to look for the qualities of their peers and embrace the uniqueness of their school community.
My Project
An iPevo Document Camera would allow me to display hands-on tools while teaching online classes. i.e. When teaching fractions I could use the iPevo to capture me factoring up a piece of bread and using the pieces for adding and subtracting. I can use it to read any book to the class while they follow along and I would not be tethered to it needing to be available in digital form. During art lessons, students could see what I'm doing in real-time instead of after I've given the verbal steps.
Honestly, the possibilities are limitless when students can see how things are done, as 65% of the population are visual learners.
Please help my students continue to be successful learners by providing a tool that allows them to feel like they're learning in our classroom because they will be able to see what I'm doing as I do it.
