My Students
This year was unpredictable Never did I imagine that I would have to say goodbye to my students in the month of March. The year isn't over due to the lack of resources, many have to attend summer school.
My students and I have embarked on the distance learning journey!
We are actively engaged in all sorts of different online platforms and learning new things. My students and I participate in Zoom meetings to go over new material and to check in with each other. In addition, I am recording lessons at home for them to view and continue to learn new material. My students try to keep up but the district issued laptop is limited with a a three-hour battery life. The students have iPads that the district has out but no training.
My Project
This pandemic will not stop me from helping my students learn the skills needed to be successful in life. My future leaders are learning political and life long skills. Also personal finance. Now my living room is my classroom. Therefore, it is very important that I have the resources to help them grasp the concepts and skills they need to succeed in the next school year.
With an iPad, it will help me elevate my skills when teaching.
When I'm Zooming with my students I do two things at once and walk them through the assignments and how things work on an iPad. The case is so I can type and give examples on how different types of essays look and the apple pen enables me to show them note-taking strategies and to introduce them to new technology in the iPad to make distance learning fun
