Our students come from a small rural area and the school is a huge part of their life. They are very inquisitive and love collaborative projects. K-6 is a wonderful time to encourage students to take an active part and learn about the environment and the world around them.
In the last several years we have received a large number of students below grade level and struggle to find creative projects to keep them engaged.
Providing activities where they can observe, discover, and talk about what they have learned has been a huge draw to our students.
My Project
During this Covid19 distance learning time we have found that the students are very creative. We will be having Zoom Art classes where students will do art projects together. I will share a design and walk through the project with my students at home.
Art is an amazing way to relieve the stress that students are feeling during this difficult time.
Using white boards will help the students to first design their art project by setting up a plan. Once students have a plan they can get started with the project. The additional art supplies will enhance their projects.
We will do 1 main project a week and students can do others if they choose to outside the art class time. This is a great time for students to experience producing a creative project.
