Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are High School Students with mild to moderate disabilities. They are an active and curious group that enjoys discovering new things. They are very creative and enjoy showcasing their abilities.

When they are given a chance to shine, they shine brightly.

As students with special needs, they often feel minimized or less capable, but they are very intelligent kids who have a lot to offer. These guys are all capable of great things.

They all love to learn but are often overlooked due to their disabilities. They enjoy critical thinking activities and really appreciate a great discussion.

My Project

As we approach a very uncertain school year for at least the first few months, I find myself unsure how to make distance learning most effective and to make the most of the little time I will have with my students. I want to create a STEM lab environment that will help them discover and find fun in Science.

The activities I have chosen will give my students critical thinking practice.

These activities will include daily critical thinking warm-ups, and labs that will give them hands-on experiences and practice.

I also want to make sure that the activities I need to give them for independent work are relevant to and build on to the hands-on activities we will be doing throughout the year. Thanks for your support!
