This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
These preserved grass frog specimens will provide students with a hands-on learning experience that cannot be replicated through textbooks or digital simulations. Dissecting real specimens allows students to observe the intricate details of biological structures, understand the complexity of anatomy, and gain practical skills in forensic investigation. This tactile experience deepens their understanding of the concepts taught in class, making the lessons more engaging and memorable.
The primary goal is to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.
By incorporating dissection into the curriculum, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills. Additionally, this project aims to inspire a deeper interest in science and potential careers in biology, medicine, or forensic science.
Students are curious, eager to learn, and thrive on interactive and hands-on activities. They bring diverse perspectives and backgrounds, which enriches the learning environment. Many of them may not have had opportunities to engage in such immersive scientific experiences, making this project especially impactful. Their enthusiasm and drive to understand the world around them make them deserving of this unique educational opportunity.
