it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My amazing Dual Language scholars enter the classroom every day eager to learn science and collaborate with their peers. In the Dual Language program, lessons are taught in both English and Spanish in order to cultivate and strengthen their biliteracy skills. My eighth-grade scholars are preparing to take the Living Environment Regents and will be getting high school credit for successfully completing the class in middle school. The classroom environment is an important part of their learning. It is a space in which students feel safe and welcome. It is also a place in which students can display their work and accomplishments.
A color printer will help enrich my students' learning and will also help bring their work to life.
Many of the students are not able to print their work at home and your contributions to this project will help them create a portfolio that will memorialize their learning. In addition, the printer will also be used to create an interactive word wall which will not only include the vocabulary words and definitions in both English and Spanish but images of the concepts as well. This will be incredibly helpful for visual learners in the classroom. Finally, the work in our dual-language classroom is presented in blue for English and red for Spanish and the printer will allow us to continue displaying important information in both languages.
