This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love to come to class every day. Most come from a low socioeconomic background and receive free lunch. However, they do not let their background hinder their learning. They come eager to learn every day.

My students help create an environment that is caring, welcoming, and encouraging.

From day one, we have created a classroom environment where we know it is a safe environment to learn. We can make mistakes and learn from them. They learn how to treat others with respect and learn how to use their manners.

My Project

We need a new bookcase to display our read aloud properly. We currently have a very small bookcase. It doesn’t hold many books and it is hard to see which books are being displayed. The storage boxes would allow me to organize the books by month. This will allow me to easily switch out the books each month.

This new bookcase would triple the amount the books we are able to display and read during the month.

It would also make every book visible, which makes my students extremely excited! They love to see what new books we will be reading for the month.
