This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students love engaging activities that get their bodies moving and their minds thinking. I have quickly noticed in my first year of teaching that behavioral problems decrease when kids are out of their seats and engaging in the material. My students are constantly asking me to incorporate different activities into our lessons that are interesting and meaningful to them. They have already shown a great interest in music and the arts. They have the interest to see how art, music, and core subjects integrate with each other.

My Project

Distance learning can be difficult. Students do not like to be glued to a computer screen doing boring work. Because of Covid, students have also have missed out on exciting and engaging field trips. Help me make distance learning and classroom engagement more interesting by helping provide some video accessories that will allow me to make virtual field trips for my students. These materials will be used for all subjects. I will create videos about plant and animal structures and virtually take students to explore Utah habitats. Students will write and produce a short movie to work on character, setting, and plot. These materials will also be used to make school wide book talks to get all grades interested in reading.
