Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at a high poverty school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch! I have high expectations that they will grow and learn beyond what is expected. We are learning skills such as robotics, coding, and typing along with our curriculum. School is a safe and happy place for my students. Each day, they come into the classroom excited about the day and spending time exploring and learning together. For many of my students, being at school is the best part of their day.

My Project

Students get targeted practice with place value, fractions, decimals, multiplication, and division with the discovery math cans. Each can is packed with hands-on manipulatives and question cards, each skill-building math can includes everything children need to get focused and practice with key math concepts. As students work through each can, they’ll use a protractor to measure angles, cubes to determine volume, charts to help with place value, and practice multiplication and division facts.

Knex Education kits have been designed to help a students engagement in today’s busy classroom.

They are designed to help in the teaching of science, technology, engineering and math topics (STEM). The students will build simple machines, structures, and cars. They will explore pulleys and levers too. Having hands-on materials that includes step by step instructions is a great way for students to learn real life skills.

Have these discovery kits will greatly benefit my students in learning math and science skills. They will be about to read the step by step instructions while collaborating in small groups. This will enhance their learn while preparing them for the future.
