Help me give my students opportunity to explore the world with a monthly subscription to Scholastic Magazine, and allow them to form a chess club at our site.
My students are a mixed population of English learners, resource, and advanced abilities. They come to me from all socioeconomic levels.
They are inquisitive and have a strong desire to learn.
They are kind to one another, and they strive to help each other. When they struggle, they collaborate with one another, and together they make our team stronger.
Because of their willingness to learn and work cooperatively, they make my job fun and rewarding. Getting funded for this project is so important because the students deserve to have the resources they need to be successful.
My Project
I plan to have my English students read Scope Magazine each month and discover the world around them, both in the United States and abroad Students will read the non-fiction stories from their monthly Scope Scholastic Magazine as a class activity.
Scope Magazine is a highly-rated, high-interest magazine that will enable my students to learn about people, places, and ideas that they may not have any prior knowledge about.
This magazine is packed with relevant and inspiring stories for today's teens.
The Teacher Chess boards will be used to start a chess club here on campus for any student that wishes to play or learn the game of chess.
