Help me give my students colored pencils, crayons, plastic totes, flashlights, paper plates, modeling clay, brass fasteners, styrofoam balls, sidewalk chalk, balloons, binder clips, large labels, plastic spoons, post its, dixie cups, file boxes and more.
My fifth graders attend school in a small rural district. Most of the students in the district qualify for free and reduced lunches. A lot of these students come to school without the basic supplies needed. This is an amazing district that cares tremendously about the students that attend school here.
These students are very motivated to learn and achieve new things, but they do not always have resources available to them.
They are great kids, and they deserve to have the very best, just like any other student.
Any donations made to this project will make a significant difference in the lives of not just the children that are in my classroom this school year, but also all the students that will come into my classroom in the future. These projects are so special because they give my students a connection to the outside world. It helps me get across to them that the world is bigger than they know. I make sure to let them know that there are people out there other than me, their parents, and family that care a great deal about their education and their future.
My Project
Discovering the mysteries of Science is such an amazing experience for my students. By giving them these types of experiences, they will always remember the concepts they get to learn in Science.
These supplies will allow my kids to explore and engage in learning more about Science in a hands-on way.
The flashlights, paper plates, brass fasteners and modeling clay will allow us to make shadow clocks. The styrofoam balls will allow us to model the moon phases. The balloons and binder clips will help us in weighing air. Our worms will need a home during our Webs of Life mysteries, so the plastic totes will serve as their homes.
The list just continues to go on with ordinary supplies these kids will get to use in discovering the mysteries of Science.
