My Project

Our district is piloting an exciting new curriculum called Open Sci Ed with our chemistry students, which will require every student to have a lab notebook to record data and observations of observed phenomena. These notebooks will help students compile initial explanations and develop questions that reflect their curiosity about how they can slow the flow of energy on Earth to protect vulnerable coastal communities around the world! My goal is to stimulate student curiosity and challenge them to imagine solutions to our global climate issues.

What makes my students so special is the diverse backgrounds that they bring to the table, teaching at Iowa's most diverse public high school creates a unique environment for students that exposes them to different cultures and perspectives that enrich our learning.
