My Project

Middle school students love to learn science through hands-on inquiry. But, let's be honest, who doesn't? Their faces light up every time they see supplies set out to conduct experiments, and they are so much more engaged when they can learn by "doing" science rather than reading or watching.

The materials requested in this project proposal include tuning forks to use as we learn about sound and compare different frequencies, as well as laser pointers and concave and convex lenses to study how light is refracted.

I've also requested diffraction glasses that will help students see that light is actually a combination of all colors of light, and we will use these to compare various forms of natural and man-made light.

These materials will provide several activities to help students learn about sound and light, and will last for many years to come. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this project.
