This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I need more non-fiction titles and materials to incorporate Science into my literacy block. I also need books that match my students' interests. These books need to be high interest and at a variety of reading levels for my students. My students reading levels in fourth grade range between Kindergarten and Fifth grade. I need a variety of books in order to appeal to all of my readers' interests and abilities.
Having engaging science kits that can be used during literacy center time would allow me to teach more Science.
Students love Science, but we don't always have time during our day. The answer to this problem is to incorporate Science into our Literacy time. We can DO Science during center time and meet ELA standards at the same time.
