Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My second-grade students thrive on activities that are hands-on, fun, and meaningful. A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to purchase high-quality resources for my class to engage in projects, crafts, literacy activities, and themed lessons that will focus on Lunar New Year celebration.
This is a good way to bring culture into our classroom as we partake in one of the world's most vibrant holiday.
It is about celebrating good fortune, lucky food, and togetherness as it is a rich and colorful tradition. This will offer a wonderful opportunity to enhance their experience. I am requesting the read-aloud book, Tray of Togetherness. This book, along with others we will read, will introduce students to different cultures and traditions, helping them appreciate the beauty and significance of Lunar New Year. As part of the festivities, I will place Year of the Snake chocolate coins in red envelopes for my students, adding fun and decorations to our classroom.
