My Students

Each morning we start our day with music and movement to get everyone refreshed, energized, and ready to start their fun day of learning. The day's goals are explained and the students are showed how they will meet these goals using fun hands on learning activities.

My students are ages 3 to 5 years old and being an inclusion classroom means students with varying disabilities (speech delays, behavioral concerns, sensory disorders, etc.

are mixed in our classroom; these students are not segregated at all they participate in all activities all day. We teach our students that they are a school family and everyone at school is friends and are to be respected. This group of students are really nurturing, accepting, curious, and excited to learn.

My Project

In my class we try to use the STEAM model of teaching (science, technology, engineering, art, and math) with these two fun alphabet activities we can integrate into our literacy activities too! My students would learn about letter sounds and initial sounds of words through discovery/science activities.

These donations would provide an opportunity my students do not currently have and that is to learn literacy skills of letter sounds and words initial sounds through science/discovery activities.

When students discover ideas on their own they are ore likely to remember them then if a teacher just told them the information. So my students would discover, learn, and remember letter sounds making them more successful in kindergarten next school year.
