My Project

My school in Northern California is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for our diverse student body. Our teachers are committed to helping every student graduate with the skills they need to succeed in a changing world.

As a science teacher, I have noticed that hands-on, interactive learning is the best way to engage students and help them understand complex science concepts.

To further support this type of learning, I would like to create a non-fiction science collection of books for our school's science lab.

This collection will include elementary books that cover a wide range of topics, from plant and animal life cycles to the properties of matter. Reading non-fiction stimulates interest and builds vocabulary and background knowledge, which is crucial for understanding complex science concepts. Our third-grade students embark on a journey to understand the intricate life cycles of plants and animals. This life cycle literacy collection will aid in fostering curiosity, encouraging students to conduct research and discovery, and ultimately improving their comprehension of the natural world.
