Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Giving my students the time to disconnect from their tablets after weeks of continuous state testing with board game time in the classroom is a powerful way to calm them down, will sharpen their brain and make them kinder to their classmates.
I feel that giving students a chance to power down from intense computer based testing with the use of board games will foster collaboration and stronger relationships with each other.
One of the ways to power down is by swapping in something fun with board games in the classroom with teacher supervision.
Finding fun and engaging ways to bring students' attention to the present in a healthy way is one way that I want to help them practice mindfulness amidst a very technology driven school day.
