My Project
Dear Potential Donors,
We are excited to potentially introduce a new unit to our PE curriculum at our school:
disc golf for our 9th-12th grade students!
Our goal is to provide students with opportunities to engage in lifelong fitness activities that promote physical health, social interaction, and personal development. With your support, we can bring the benefits of disc golf to our students and enhance their overall well-being.
Project Overview:
Introduction to disc golf rules and techniques, practice sessions on a designated course, friendly competitions, and skill progression assessments.
Benefits for Students:
Physical Fitness: Disc golf requires players to walk and engage in various physical movements such as throwing, reaching, and balancing. It promotes cardiovascular endurance, strength, and coordination.
Social Interaction: Disc golf is a social sport that encourages teamwork, communication, and camaraderie among players. Students will learn how to collaborate and support each other in a non-competitive environment.
Skill Development: Students will develop hand-eye coordination, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills through disc golf activities. These skills are transferable to other sports and life situations.
Inclusivity: Disc golf is accessible to students of all abilities and fitness levels. It promotes inclusion and diversity within our PE program.
Impact and Sustainability: The addition of a disc golf unit will have a lasting impact on our students' physical and mental well-being. By providing them with exposure to a new sport, we empower them to make healthier lifestyle choices beyond their high school years. The equipment purchased through this project will be utilized for future classes, ensuring sustainability and continued benefits for incoming students.
Thank you for considering our proposal and supporting our efforts to enhance our PE program!
