This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a class of energetic, enthusiastic, and amazing students. Our school is a Title I school where most students come from low-income or poverty-stricken homes. All of the students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. Most are English Language Learners, while some have special needs. These students come to school eager to learn every day with big smiles on their faces, regardless of their circumstances.

I want to help my students in every way that I can in order for them to be successful in reaching their goal of developing their skills, and of course, have fun!

My Project

I love having all of my students back to in-person learning this year! My students are curious and very eager to learn! My Math center mainly consists of the same basic manipulatives such connecting cubes, color bears, and pattern blocks. Although my students do like to play and use them, after a while they do become a little bored.

This year, I wanted to do something different with my math center and add some fun and different math manipulatives that will be used during their Math Workshop time!

These will include different counters such as dinosaurs and vehicles. The file folder game and easels will be used during my Math small groups to enhance their learning. The pattern block designs are to help my students create pictures rather than constantly stack all the blocks! Thank you!
