This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Being a teacher in a low-income area gives me the opportunity to teach children while opening their minds to many possibilities. My students walk into the classroom every day with smiles on their faces, high fives or even hugs, always eager to learn. They amaze me with their insight and imaginative ideas. As their teacher, I hope to give them the best learning experience so they are excited to continue learning.

My 2nd graders are eager learners, willing to take on challenges.

But being at home learning virtually has its ups and downs. We are missing the fun part of school where we would get to explore the curriculum by having a hands on approach to learning. I would love to be able to continue by bringing exploration and discovery to them at their homes. They are hard workers and love to shine!

My Project

My second graders are going to be going on a dinosaur discovery and my students need dinosaurs, dinosaur books, excavating materials and fossils so that they can explore the exciting world of DINOSAURS! Many of my students have expressed a strong desire to learn more about dinosaurs. The children will have an opportunity to learn about dinosaurs through the use of picture books and read-a-loud books. Since the students are at home, the materials will help them connect to the unit since we can't be together in class. It will make them excited for learning to be having their own excavation at home. It will make the whole unit so much more fun!
