My Students

Our school sits in the middle of an established community with plenty of diversity. My students walk into our classroom every day full of life, ready to learn, and excited for what is in store for them that day. We take advantage of every second we have together to improve ourselves. When one makes a mistake, the phrase "Don't be sorry, be better" commonly comes to mind.

The band program at Centerville Junior High School has started growing at an unprecedented rate in recent years.

We have worked together to get the ball rolling on that growth with great success. We are excited for what the future holds!

My Project

Ever since I joined the faculty at our school, I have noticed a need for much of our equipment to be serviced or replaced. The orchestra bells definitely need replacement. They are broken and in really poor shape. Servicing them would cost nearly as much as replacing them and with the way composers write for percussion these days, our current bells would likely not be sufficient to the demands of our music. We have nearly forty students enrolled in percussion classes this year and two of them have special needs. Our students have excelled in spite of their equipment these past three years placing at every state competition we have entered. With your help, we can ensure that their continued progress is not hindered by their equipment.
