Help me give my students the ability to express themselves creatively through digital storytelling with a mobile phone handset, Bluetooth remote, and lavalier microphones.
Ours is a technology-driven school. The students are always excited to try something new in our "Rocky's Den", where students get the chance to explore robots, code, and express themselves through technology. Every week, the students look forward to learning about the different technology tools in "Rocky's Den" and exploring the many possibilities these tools provide.
Technology allows my students to effectively communicate, learn at their own pace, provides them with a choice, fosters a love for learning, and increases engagement.
My class is made up of students from different backgrounds and consists of some EL learners. For those EL learners, using technology is a necessity to be able to have a voice and be understood. The students who are reluctant to speak because they may not be able to find the right words are able to collaborate with their peers and become an active member of the classroom community.
My Project
Digital storytelling is a way for students to tell a story that connects to the 4 C's of Common Core in a 21st-century classroom. It teaches students how to communicate with peers and different audience members. It allows them to practice speaking and listening skills and gives them a voice in their learning. It encourages collaboration with others to plan and problem solve. Digital storytelling allows students to express themselves creatively leading to interest and engagement. Students are thinking critically by having to apply concepts that have been taught in class

The students are excited to take the next steps in digital storytelling and getting their voices heard. These materials will help pave the way for students to be innovative and practice their technical skills. These materials will help with reduce background noise, adjust volume levels and take advantage of multiple shot angles while shooting with a steady frame.
Digital storytelling is an interactive and engaging way to reach all students. Our school community that has students from many different backgrounds. Through digital storytelling, we will be able to make meaningful connections to one another's lives and learn from the various cultures that make it such an amazing school!
