I am a technology coordinator/teacher at my school. In addition to teaching all K-6 students computer literacy skills and digital citizenship, I will also be facilitating the broadcasting elective class. We will be showing weekly broadcasts of school announcements and events.
Military families make up 53% of our student population.
Our military dependents are from the branches of the United States Army, United States Navy, United States Coast Guard, Hawaii Air National Guard, United States Navy Reserves, United States Marines, and United States Air Force.
My Project
The drone will be used to help our enrichment class create a walking tour of our school, which will be shared on our school website. Since we are a military impacted school, this will allow for new incoming students to view our school ahead of time, and to feel comfortable by the time they enter.
Our school broadcast team would also like to add drone videos and reporting for a more exciting and interactive experience.
Our broadcasting team will be in charge of reporting weekly school events, as well as special events at our school (e.g. May Day, Sporting Events, Career Day). The broadcast will be shown to the entire population of our school (500+ students).
