My Students
I am a technology coordinator/teacher at my school. We teach our K-6 students computer literacy skills, digital citizenship, working with multimedia and other technologies. I co-facilitate the broadcasting elective class with our school librarian.
Military families make up 53% of our student population.
Our military dependents are from the branches of the United States Army, United States Navy, United States Coast Guard, Hawaii Air National Guard, United States Navy Reserves, United States Marines, and United States Air Force.
Our hope is to make our broadcasts available to families of our students, both local and military.
My Project
We were gifted with a Yuneec Typhoon Q500 4K quadcopter with gimbal drone in 2018 from Donors Choose. We have been exploring and creating with our drone, but now need replacement batteries.
Our drone will help create a new view of our school special events (e.g.
May Day, Sporting Events, Career Day). It also helps our school broadcast team add videos and reporting that are more exciting and interactive. With students coming back to campus in person, there will be more footage to capture!
The broadcasts will be shown to the entire population of our school (400+ students).
