This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Curious, inquisitive and adventurous - that's what best describes my fifth-grade class. They are always thinking of innovative ideas to explore and love design challenges and digital quests or scanvenger hunts.
They are passionate about STEM projects and eager to use digital tools to plan, model, design, and create!
Since we are a STEAM designated school, we do hands-on labs weekly with our limited resources. Although my students come from middle class and low-income home (80% are on free or reduced lunch), they are always eager to learn.
My Project
I am very excited about engaging fifth-grade students with STEM activities! With the help of laptops, students can work in groups to solve STEM quests while fostering critical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration, and communication.
We need laptops to help students master the technology skills necessary to integrate STEM activities by conducting virtual science simulations, analyzing real-life problems, visualizing abstract math concepts, and exploring design principles within our class!
With your help, these laptops will put the "T" in STEAM - bringing technology and the digital tools necessary to help create the future scientist and engineers that our country needs. Let's inspire curiosity and creativity together!
