My Students
My students are creative and innovative twenty-first-century learners who are looking for opportunities to connect with the world around them. Forty percent of these students are economically disadvantaged.
My students would love to have more coding activities and toys in our Digital Den.
Our lab currently has two Lego WeDo stations for my upper grade students, a couple of Code-n-Go Mouse, and one Botley Robot for my early learners. We are borrowing BeeBots and Code-A-Pillar temporarily from another teacher. My students have enjoyed these stations so much, I would love to see more of this excitement for coding in them. I need engaging tools to build and develop lessons and project-based activities for early learners that will stimulate their love for learning.
These students embrace challenges and are eager to learn new skills and technologies. My campus is a place where students thrive when new challenges come their way and would love to have a few more stations in our lab.
My Project
We are asking for the code-n-go mouse coding kit along with some colorful painter's tape to make mazes for them. We are also asking for a couple of books relating to Digital Citizenship. These will be used in our Digital Learning Lab during station time. We are trying to build our Digital Learning Lab with more stations and in particular coding activities. I've used up the one roll of painter's tape that I had for creating mazes that the robots are being programmed to go through. My students would love to have more tape in various bright colors.
