My Students

I work with twenty-six, fabulous, fifth grade students each day! My students work hard daily to learn and grow in a variety of ways. They love to read, tell stories, laugh, create, and enjoy science experiments and labs.

This is something we talk about in my classroom. There are many different ways to accomplish this goal. The first step is by being or becoming a lifelong learner. This is something I work hard to instill in students.

I want to create an environment where students feel they can take risks, try new things, and not be afraid to be wrong. As Elbert Hubbard said, "There is no failure except in no longer trying." We choose to keep trying!

My Project

This project is for gift cards to Teachers Pay Teachers! This website has amazing resources designed by educators! This school year has been anything but traditional, but teachers are pouring their hearts out to help learning continue to happen regardless of the situation. My school has been in several situations so far this year. We have been fully remote, hybrid, back to fully remote, and now we are balancing a blended platform. I have some students in person 4 days a week and them some students remaining online.

We are still learning so much online and having access to digital resources really helps keep my students engaged and ready to learn.

Having the gift cards for Teachers Pay Teachers can help me provide materials in a digital format to reach all my learners, no matter if they are at home or in the school building.

I plan to purchase items like digital social studies activities, digital science labs, math stations, digital reading stations, writing workshop stations, digital escape rooms that match our curriculum and many other digital resources that will help students to remain engaged as we are continuing to learn in a digital blended setting.

All of our students have technology at home to help continue our learning in our unique school year. We meet using Zoom and I teach live lessons to them daily. I have purchased several digital resources already but they add up quickly, so these gift cards would help me be able to continue to purchase these engaging learning opportunities for my students!
