My Students
I’m a speech therapist at a Title I school in an urban area. I’ve been at the same school for over 25 years and serve over 50 children. Even though my job gets more challenging every year due to my students’ needs continuing to increase, I stay because of all the amazing kids I get to work with.
Even though a large portion of my children can’t speak and have significant physical and medical concerns, every one of them perseveres to find a way to communicate, even if it’s a facial expression or giggle.
They challenge and encourage me every day. But mostly, they make me smile every day, in person and virtually!
My Project
This school year the teachers and students are more excited than ever to be back in the school building. Last year our school system taught virtually and on a hybrid model. The teachers are ready to work harder than we have to catch these students up on skills they may have missed out on.
Teachers Pay Teachers is full of creative and ready- to- go speech- language therapy lessons!
These resources are created by other speech- language pathologists who know what our targeted skills are. These premade lessons, that are specific to speech- language impaired students, allow me to have more time to collaborate with teachers and parents to ensure a more successful school year.
