This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Every morning I check in my second graders to see how they are feeling. They are very excited to be back in the classroom.
I teach in a primarily immigrant and working-class neighborhood in Los Angeles.
My students come from supportive families who are involved and concerned. Some of my students are above grade level, some are on grade level, and some are struggling readers. Even with all this diversity, my second graders have one thing in common: they all love learning!
My Project
This first school year back in person after the pandemic has been difficult. My students are excited to be back in the classroom and learning, but there has been some learning loss in all academic areas. I am constantly looking for resources and worksheets to review concepts that have already been taught.
A Teachers Pay Teachers gift card would give me the opportunity to purchase amazing digital resources that could be used immediately.
Fluency passages based on the long vowels sounds would benefit my struggling readers. Also, different math puzzles reviewing comparing, and ordering numbers would motivate my students.
This project for Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards would allow me to purchase resources that will last for years.
