This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
When I said good bye to my students in March, I didn't realize it would be the last time I was seeing them this year. They left with the intention of coming back and as a result did not take all their needed supplies with them.
The focus of their learning has now been to provide distance learning through virtual means in which many students did not have computers or have outdated broken ones without cameras.
Being from a school with students with families with low income and multiple jobs, my students are struggling to have the support at home to be successful. My students are eager to learn and see one another once again through our Zoom meetings which many must rely for their parents to get home to use their phones to do. My students are wanting to go back to a normal life and unfortunately this is the only normal that I can provide for them during this time. We must continue to fight through this and work together to show them that their education is still important and our number one priority!
My Project
Currently, my students do not have access to their all of their instructional materials to be able to create quality distance learning lessons. My students require digital resources in order to be engaged in our Zoom lessons. Without proper resources myself, I am required to spend many hours creating my own resources due to lack of funds and supplies. These digital resources help to make this process more efficient and beneficial to my students.
With a document camera and teachers pay teachers gift cards, I can create quality digital resource lessons that meet the needs of all my students even from home!
With the gift cards I have access to a myriad of teaching resources that can be displayed using the document camera during our Zoom meetings. My students will appreciate having other instructional materials in which to learn and be successful from!
