Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are awesome! They come to school everyday ready to learn and get a step closer to a successful future.

We are part of a Title 1 school, which means that my students come from low socio economic backgrounds, and they all are ELL (English Language Learners).

They come from homes where English is not the first language or it's not spoken at all.

Despite this, I believe my students deserve to receive the best education to become successful, life-time learners.

My Project

Literacy is the foundation on which learning is built, and Integrating technology into my reading classroom will increase student engagement by providing an effective way to connect with students of all learning styles. My students will be using these tablets everyday in my classroom in a variety of ways to improve their reading levels among other skills. The tablets will also be beneficial when doing research on any given topic. They will use it as a center where they can use educational technology, such as IStation, to provide collaborative instruction. My students can also use them to listen to a digital book by using MyOn. Listening to a book being read helps my struggling readers focus on the sounds of words being read, and it models reading fluency.

There are a variety of ways technology can be integrated into the classroom for the success of my students this school year and beyond.
