Literacy is the foundation on which learning is built, and Integrating technology into my reading classroom will increase student engagement by providing an effective way to connect with students of all learning styles. My students will be using these tablets everyday in my classroom in a variety of ways to improve their reading levels among other skills. The tablets will also be beneficial when doing research on any given topic. They will use it as a center where they can use educational technology, such as IStation, to provide collaborative instruction. My students can also use them to listen to a digital book by using MyOn. Listening to a book being read helps my struggling readers focus on the sounds of words being read, and it models reading fluency. There are a variety of ways technology can be integrated into the classroom for the success of my students this school year and beyond.
