My Students
My students are dedicated and curious students who love to learn how to investigate the world around them! Struggling to work with Covid-19, but still wanting the lab experience of a high school science classroom, these students are great!
Using modern technology to help students who merge from in person and online on a day-to-day basis, these upgrades to my classroom help the students transition flawlessly from one circumstance to the next.
My Project
I am requesting four digital microscopes so my students will be able to work together to see on the screen the moon rock samples NASA provides us! As a NASA Certified Instructor, I have the unique opportunity to request ACTUAL MOONROCKS so that my students in our diverse demographic can experience something they never though they would live to see! Billionaires have the opportunity to see space, but my students who may one day work for them or become one themselves need to see what is out there to motivate them!
In all reality though, these Moonrocks and Meteorite samples that NASA provides are small, so having them make the impact they need with the students... they need to be visibly seen.
These microscopes allow me to project the limited samples to screens that students can share in groups and work together to analyze these priceless samples.
As an added bonus, my other classes (Biology and Marine Biology) can use these microscopes to study tissues and plants in their dissection labs, so they will be used all year long! Please consider my project for part of your philanthropic donations!!
