Digital Media Storytelling

Help me give my students audio visual equipment to make the most of our new digital media class. Students will be learning storytelling, interviewing, and instructional media skills to use in making their own digital creations!

My Students

My students are in grades six, seven and eight. They are from Maine and from all over the world. Forty percent of students are from low income families and thirty-five percent of our school population are learning to speak English.

My students are creating digital content which will represent them positively in the future.

They will be learning digital media skills so that they can pursue storytelling, demonstrate their skills, and otherwise express themselves using a variety of mediums including animation, podcasting, and television!

My Project

We have the amazing opportunity to teach Digital Media skills to 7th and 8th graders this year. We're partnering with three nonprofit community organizations to get student voices, digital creations, and videos onto the Internet. Students will be learning storytelling, interviewing, podcasting, and video production skills in order to represent themselves positively in the future.

With your help in providing them with audio & video equipment, we will be able to practice skills and create media right in our own classroom.

These items will be used with our school supplied iPads to make professional looking and sounding videos and podcasts in spite of our limited ability to travel to local recording studios.
