Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

What is the one class where the students get excited every time they walk in the door and where you could possibly see tears when it is time to leave? You got it...it's the computer lab, a fan favorite on our campus. From reading and math to coding and keyboard, we all love the computer lab. Each year, I have been learning about new concepts, accessories, and tools to my classroom. This digital media accessories will give me an opportunity to continue to grow in the areas of technology on and off our campus.

My Project

Over the past couple of years, I have noticed that voice media and digital projects have dominated the technology world. I have become familiar with using iMovie and making videos and trailers for different events on campus. This year, I want to take it up a couple of notches. The microphone, tripod, bluetooth speaker, and AirPods will allow me to become a better digital media teacher. Learning how to add voice overs to my iMovies is something that I have been wanted to conquer. I spent a lot of time watching webinars and YouTube videos to help me become a better technology teacher. The bluetooth speaker and the Airpods will come in handy when I am spending that quite professional development time at school and even at home. Lastly, the tripod will be beneficial when I’m using the video camera around campus. There is always so much to learn about the changes in technology and these items will help me grow professionally. This will be an awesome opportunity for me to bring back everything that I have learned to me students to enhance their digital media projects this year.
