My Students
Our school is an urban school in downtown Salt Lake City.
Most students don't have a performance group to play with.
Our performing ensembles are a great way to get kids to experience success at what they can do. Learning the skills, dedication, perseverance and teamwork needed to be part of a performing group are the same skills they will need after high school in any other job or project they are involved in.
My Project
Music does more than just make sounds, it changes the way students think and act. The skills they learn in music will help them be successful on the stage, in the classroom, and for the rest of their lives.
Digital percussion is the wave of the future and this instrument will give us the flexibility and space for many applications.
Learning how to manipulate and program instruments like these help students get scholarships to college and employment later.
Max and Elizabeth are two of my best percussionists and enjoy playing in the pit orchestra for the school musical. Using this device instead of a vibe, marimba, glockenspiel and other sound effects saves, time, effort and space in the pit.
