This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are making things work as best they can during this pandemic. They are logging on with family devices and connecting to the lessons via Zoom. They are logging on Google Classroom to do their additional assignments. Although they enjoy seeing their friends on the screen, they do miss the hands-on learning and group learning with their friends in a classroom setting.
My Project
Now more than ever students need books that they can be read by multiple users.
For now, due to distance learning, this Kindle will allow me to have digital copies of books to read aloud to my students with virtual or recorded read aloud platforms.
During distance learning, this Kindle will allow me to connect it to my computer to use learning applications that support reading during my live virtual lessons.
When we return to the classroom, this Kindle will allow students to have a digital library at their fingertips. This library will support multiple students with an amplitude of books to choose from. Classrooms are often overcrowded, and excessive furniture like bookshelves only make space even more limited. I want to create a library of electronic devices that students can check out to read with ease. The books they read will allow them to always have clean copies that are new and unmarked.
