My Students

I teach a class of fourth graders ready to collaborate and learn together every day. This is a diverse class with gifted students, English learners and some with special needs. Many students qualify for free lunches and attend our school breakfast program.

My classroom is student-centered, and the kids love to use technology tools to dive deep into learning.

Due to underfunding of public schools, my students don't always have the tools they need to succeed. Despite the challenges, the parents are very supportive of the innovative teachers at our site.

My Project

My students love seeing their classroom learning posted on shared sites with their parents. We use sites like Class Dojo and Shutterfly to share important milestones.

Unfortunately, our 10-year old classroom camera is in need of a major upgrade.

Many photos come out blurry and must be deleted. The video feature on the old camera is no longer working. I'd love to take videos of the students to show parents all the amazing work their children are completing. I am asking for a Canon PowerShot SX620 HS digital camera.

We also will use this camera as part of our insect collection unit to photograph and record our local insect population. Because this camera has built-in wifi, our photos can easily be posted to parents.
