My students are inquisitive and creative individuals who all share a love of digital and hands on learning.
Our school is located in a small rural town. The community is extremely supportive of our students and our school. My class is made up of a diverse group of learners and backgrounds. I want my students to be able to connect around the world using digital learning.
My Project
My students would use these iPads for a variety of reasons. For literacy, my students would use eBooks and apps like Puppet Pals to become truly immersed into their stories. For math, we use the iPads for the many math fluency games and apps like ScreenChomp to create proof drawings to solve word problems. In science and social studies, we would use apps like Google Earth to explore regions and locations far away. As a teacher with a STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) focus, we would also use the iPads for computer coding apps like Kodable and Scratch.
Without the iPads, my students would not have the opportunity to explore these educational apps and experience the world at their tiny fingertips.I am a 21st Century teacher and I want my students to be 21st Century learners!
