Help me give my students Chromebooks to meet the needs of each student.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My students come from very diverse backgrounds. Some of these students are from different countries and they bring to the classroom various cultural experiences. My students are innovative and high achieving. I work with about 115 middle school students this year who enjoy working in a positive learning environment. I teach students who are English language learners and some who are exceptional needs learners. Many of the students are from low-income families and receive free or reduced-price lunches.
I want to build a classroom community of learners where each student can learn to support and accept others.
They bring with them different cultures, languages, and different outlooks on life. I work with students who are unique individuals with various learning skills. My goal is to meet these students at their level of learning, work with them on their skills and help them improve not only their abilities in math but to boost their confidence in all academics. The use of computers will allow me to differentiate the curriculum for all students.
The Chromebooks would allow for optimal high quality instruction with the classroom that serves students that come from various cultures. Currently, classroom demographics serve students from 4 different continents, and 8 different languages. The Chromebooks would give students access to online resources to ensure that each student is able to receive information in their own language. The Chromebooks would allow students to simply focus on the academic material and gain confidence. Plus in this technology literate world, any interaction with updated technology will increase their literacy as well as their desire to learn and use the new technology! By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student engagement in math, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
