Creativity, imagination, problem solving, and collaboration are key components to authentic learning in our classroom. I have high expectations for every student. It is my responsibility to provide a variety of learning opportunities to help each child meet or exceed their goals. Our school is a K-2 school with approximately 1,100 children enrolled.
We have a diverse population of ethnic backgrounds, a growing ELL population, a high percentage of students who need accelerated learning opportunities, and students who need reading and math interventions to help them establish a firm foundation for successful learning.
My Project
COVID-19 has changed the way we teach. Our school system received funding to purchase Chromebooks for our students, and I have spent many late nights creating my own activities for students. I would love to have Teachers Pay Teachers gift cards to purchase digital activities created by other teachers to enhance my instruction and provide engaging learning experiences for my second graders. These activities will be used at school during station rotations and virtually if needed. The purchased lessons and activities will supplement our required state standards and provide other ways to assess my students.
