This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students at Ron Watson Middle School come from families that are either military, border patrol, agriculture, or working families. They enjoy working in the shop/classroom and are tech-savvy and very eager to participate in hands-on projects; making real-world connections with careers in architecture/engineering, agriculture, and graphic design. They are always ready for any type of hands-on project like using power tools to cut wood for their wood projects, preparing the field to plant and harvest herbs and vegetables, and designing word art and other graphic designs that can be cut on a vinyl cutter.

With these projects, students learn how math is applied in careers they learn about during the year.

Students are required to plan how much material is required to complete their project and calculate cost. These items will help my students develop skills that they can apply throughout their lives.
