This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Not only are books on tape and CDs outdated, but most students have difficulty operating them. When half of the listening centers reading time is setting up the equipment by the children, too much precious time is lost.
My second grade students reside in one of the lowest income neighborhoods in the city.
Not able to get most needed school supplies on their own, Donors Choose has helped get them materials to achieve academic levels beyond their expectations. Thank you Donors!
My Project
A digital listening center will allow quick simple access to a book on a mp3 player. Keeping a hard copy of a book in a bag, along with the small attractive MP3 player makes it easy for any of my students to use. This will also help me keep up with technological advances of today's society.
My class loves to read and listen to stories, and this will only aid to motivate them further!
What better way to become a more fluent reader than listening to a story in the way is was MEANT to be heard!
