My Students

Our school is geographically located in one of the nation's most beautiful vacation spots: South Lake Tahoe. Many students are from low-income households - some are homeless.

Students in my classes are creative and excited about exploring the Digital Media Arts.

They jump right in on hands-on, engaging projects that have been able to provide them. They come to school each day ready to try new things and explore their creative abilities.

Each day, I have enthusiastic kids in my class who love the individual and group projects which allow them to best use their individual skills. Students enjoy a variety of learning strategies available to them within the flexible student-centered blended learning environment. This is my second year at this school, and I am having a ton of fun with these kids and am overjoyed at the creativity that they display.

My Project

In our Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Animate units, some students are better able to draw by hand and don't relate to drawing with a mouse while others have taken traditional Art classes and will be able to replicate previous artwork into a digital format.

As these are Career Technical Education courses in the Arts, Media and Entertainment pathway - drawing tablets would provide real work experience for my students.

Students will be better able to focus on getting their ideas from idea to digital form instead of translating mouse movements as some students find this a much more difficult mode.
