This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
This year, I have the privilege of teaching seventh graders. They love to socialize. They care about their school environment and community. They enjoy learning, but most of them admit to not having help at home to succeed in their academic lives. A lot of them lack the incentive to do their homework and projects at home because of the resources needed to get the work done.
Math is usually the most challenging subject for them.
They could all benefit from any extra help provided at school. Even though I am a math teacher, I plan on providing support for all major subjects.
My Project
My students currently are only in school once or twice a week and mainly are learning at home. I teach them in school once or twice a week and online once or twice a week which makes it very hard on them to stay focused and keep up with their math skills. Many are struggling with understanding fractions right now. This scientific calculator will help them be able to complete their math work while learning at home.

My students try very hard but when we are currently doing a blended learning model which involves them learning more at home than at school. A calculator to help them with their fractions and integer skills would be a game changer for many of the who are currently struggling. I want to provide my students with every opportunity to succeed and this tool will do just that. The calculator will help them complete my math work at home with ease and without stress.
