This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
The student population is 15% white, 9% black, 72% Hispanic, 3% Asian. Fifty-eight percent of the students are eligible for free or reduced lunch, 32.6% are gifted, 8.2% are SWD and 5.3% are ELL students.
My classroom was blindsided by the coronavirus pandemic like everyone else.
Students in our district are learning at home via technology or preparing to return to the school house.
My Project
Technology is an integral part of the modern classroom. COVID has confirmed that the modern classroom is more than a physical room—it’s also a digital space for learning and collaboration.
One positive of distance learning is that we have all gained a deeper knowledge of tools that work everywhere.
Technology provides the ability to customize a formative assessment based on a student’s learner profile without that being obvious to all students makes differentiation easier. The items in my request allow for technology to be seamlessly implemented in the physical classroom.
